NEW IKEA HACKS

I noticed the recent change in the behavior of my 6 years old. She had been maximizing her time in the living room with all her toys. I asked her a few times to go and play in her room, but she would not listen. I tried analyzing this strange shift in her behavior and suddenly I realized the cause- the rug in her room.

I bought this $15 rug from IKEA last year. It was for my daughter’s room. I like the grey shade of this rug very much. But from day one she did not like it one bit. According to her, it was too dull and boring. I knew it was time to do something about it. And with a little creativity, I did it.

As my child loves doughnut and she is very fond of it, I decided to give this a doughnut look. My DIY project plan was ready now. All decided, I took scissors and cut three semi-circular sides on the doughnut and a middle circle in between. The base was ready. Next, I took some Spray paint and applied generously to the whole rug. I let it sit for a few hours. The rug was ready with small effort. My child loved it. Even her friends like it. I gave my child room a new look. You can also give your home a fresh new look with this project and you will be surprised to see the result. Now my daughter has started loving her vibrant room again.

Inspired by this success, I have converted many Ikea products into lovely and useful options with my creative hacks and I am loving it. I have so many Ikea products in the storeroom that I no longer use. I am confident that I can convert them to something useful for my home. Last week I converted the $2 L-shaped wood block into a lamp-shade and I am using it in the alley.

Visiting an Ikea store is a very overwhelming experience. There are more than 10,000 products that Ikea has to offer for the home. While it may not be possible for you to buy all those lovely products, but you still buy a lot of items whenever you visit the Ikea store. It is very hard to resist them.

I have found Ikea products to be very cost-effective, highly useful, and easy to assemble. Ikea products come packaged along with their DIY kits. You don’t need a carpenter to assemble your furniture, whether it is a small side table or your king size bed.

If you have a creative bent of mind and a good imagination, you can use Ikea products in more ways than one with your DIY hacks.

I hope you found this DIY hack story interesting and inspiring.
