I had already wondered about the office last year when Keven had returned to CP. Finally, all he had to do in the evening was reading, and then in the first year, they needed help with homework. So it was much more convenient to have him near me in the living room. I had not found a favorite office so I postponed the purchase. This year I tell myself that it is the right time. And then he likes to draw, do manual activities. In the living room, he can do it without a problem, but when there are little ones at home it is not always easy.
Maybe like me, you’ve already wondered about the age at which you MUST buy a desk. Maybe an ikea kids desk I think there is no age. Nowadays, it is very easy to find small desks for kindergarten children. The office can be a way to teach the child to occupy themselves quietly (plasticine, drawing, painting …). For the CP I think that it is not really obligatory that the child has his own office, as I said above at this age he still needs you a lot. On the other hand, it seems important to me that he has an office as long as he has to work alone. Keven began to do some homework on copying and reading alone. That’s why I started looking for the ideal office.
There are some for which I really fell in love with but which are not at all in my budget. I share them anyway because they are superb. But I would not put 600 euros in an office even if it is very pretty. I made a sort of preselection, but it seems important to me that Keven chooses his desk, it must please him so that he feels good there and uses it with pleasure. I also think that the choice of the desk should not only be aesthetic but also practical and functional. Desks without drawers or storage are not ideal in my opinion. Finally, the last point is the size of the desk, it should not be too low or too high to avoid back pain problems.
This one is not very expensive (119 euros) and I find it really very nice. There are several colors available but white and wood are my favorite. There is some storage. And it would go well with the furniture in Keven’s bedroom.
The ladder shelving desk is really original I think. Not very expensive too at only $95 at the moment. There is no actual storage, but you can easily put boxes on the shelves or even below.
The desk Which is unfortunately not in my prices otherwise I find it perfect. The two compartments under the folding top to store everything, I find it practical and great.
Ikea’s scalable drafting desk. It can be adjusted to three different heights, it tilts, you can add bins to have storage and its price is really low ($89).
Finally, at the beginning of the article, I gave you the photo of the Horizon Blanc Desk which is downright gorgeous too but too expensive for me.
So much for my selection, and you which office have you taken for your children? Are you satisfied with it?
